Make Your Own Barn Quilt or Hidden History Mural
Do you already have a barn quilt or historic mural?
We invite you to add your existing barn quilt or historic mural to the Barn Quilts and Hidden History Murals Trail. Once added, your artwork will be included on the website and in the next revisions of the printed brochure.
Please note that the BQHHM Committee reserves the right to accept or deny registration for quality control.
To apply to have your barn quilt or historic mural registered with BQHHM, please download, complete and return the registration form.
Construction
Many people make their own Barn Quilts or have them made by a friend or family member. Hidden History Murals may be the result of community or organization efforts, or be commissioned out to an artist.
If you would like to talk with someone who has made a Barn Quilt or Hidden History Mural, please email us using the Contact Us form below.
A detailed supply list and step-by-step instructions for constructing a Barn Quilt is downloadable/printable here.
Cost Estimate
For an 8'x8' mural, materials are approximately $600-$1,000. Artist fee will depend on the intricacy of the pattern or design, the number of colors, and the overall size of the Barn Quilt or Hidden History Mural.
Some people prefer to hang their own while others use a company with a hoist, such as a sign company, and that cost is approximately $250.
Simple projects may be in the $800 range while a more complicated design may range from $800 to $1,500.
